Excel - Adding an existing Pivot table to the data model

  I've been working more with, and continue to be amazed by, Power Pivot. I recently ran into an issue where I needed to add the data for an existing Power Pivot report to the Data Model. There is a checkbox that makes this easy when creating a PivotTable: As so often happens, the analysis grew in scope/importance and I found myself needing to add the data to the data model. While it's not obvious how, there is a way to add an existing Pivot table to the data model. There's a More Tables... link in the PivotTable Fields pane.  Clicking on the  More Tables... results in a dialog confirming that you want to Create a New PivotTable .  Doing so will result in the creation of the new PivotTable in a new sheet. By default the data is added to the data model. You'll likely lose some formatting but for anything other than a trivial PivotTable, this should save effort, as it did for me.

Getting Started with Mirth (Part 2)

This is the second post in a 2 part series. The first post is available here To continue with our Mirth messaging channel, lets first describe the setup of the web service which will be called by our Mirth channel. This is somewhat of a contrived example will little attention to coding standards, referential integrity or database normalization…but we wont let that stop us! Firstly, I’ve created a second database named demodetailsdb . Ideally these databases would be on disparate servers (otherwise there would be little need for such an elaborate messaging system) but for our purposes I will run both off the same ( localhost ) box. In the demodetailsdb I have created a single user_details table. Loading .... I have created a simple .NET Web Service to which we will pass the information gathered from the database in our previous post, perform some simple lookups in the user_details table based on the input data and return relevant information. Unable to load config info from /usr/local/ssl/openssl.cnf

Attempting to generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) using Apache and OpenSSL on Windows Server 2003 I received the following error message: "Unable to load config info from /usr/local/ssl/openssl.cnf" Immediately it is obvious that the path specified is a *nix path, not a Windows path. Apparently ( link ) there is no standard place for the config file in Windows, automatically resulting in this error.  To remedy, add the following line to the openssl -config  "C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\conf\openssl.cnf" For example, openssl req -new -key my.key -config "C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\conf\openssl.cnf" -out my.csr
